Volunteer Management System (VMS) - Enhancements

The following represent the list of Pending or Completed Enhancements for VMS:

1) Add an "Inactive" date field to Positions. This then will be used to make a Position Inactive. This is to accomodate Positions that have been Retired or Phased Out. This date will be added to a Position using the "Positions Maintenance" form and displayed on the "Agency/Volunteer Positions" tab. If the "Inactive" date field is filled in then Position Requirement Hours cannot be generated and the Position may be deselected on the "Positions List" form which means it will not be printed on the "Positions List" sent to a prospective Volunteer.

Completed on March 31, 2007 and incorporated into Version 2000 Build 0058. See Movie: Impact of adding "Inactive" date field to Positions (V2000 B0058)

2) To Fix: When unscheduling scheduled Volunteer hours a message popup asks: Do you want to Add the "HR" and the "Position/Skill" to the List of Schedules to Print?

This message should only popup for the first record you are unscheduling because a record will already exist and therefore should not continue to ask the same question for each hour that is being unscheduled.
Completed - October 31, 2007 and available in Version 2000 Build 0061.

3) On the Volunteer Days/Hours Available tab, add a button to automatically select unscheduled hours matching volunteer's skill set.

The above is not currently scheduled - if interested in having this feature please send email to VMS Developer.

4) Instead of showing the name "Group" in the Given Name(s) field on the "HR Profiles" form to signify the HR is not an individual but a Group, make the Given Name(s) field reflect the Group Type, i.e., "Family, Company, School, etc.

The above is not currently scheduled - if interested in having this feature please send email to VMS Developer.

5) Desired enhancement: Basically we can get all our volunteers to "check-in" at 1 computer that is linked to the database. Each one of them will have their own volunteer id or unique id and they will just input it in as well as their expected volunteering hours (say for example 2 hours) when they come and the computer automatically inputs the time into the database. The reason why we do not want a checkout system but only a checkin system is because sometimes the volunteers stay till past the office is closed and they will be unable to check out. Thus just a check in time would suffice and it will automatically clock 2 hours into that particular volunteer's profile. Can this be done?
Completed - October 31, 2007 and available in Version 2000 Build 0061.

6) On the "Standard Email Messages" form give the user a checkbox to reverse the "To" field with the "Bcc" field. This will effectively hide the email address of the Volunteers from one another thereby giving them anonymity.

7) Add the ability to select a position and email a thank you for each Volunteer working that Position for a particular date range for hours worked.

Our solutions are guaranteed to pay for themselves within the first year of deployment.
